10. Use powerful images or videos on your lead capture pages
Visual images are more persuasive than text. They are both more immersive forms of media and more likely to capture a visitor’s attention.
Embedding a video or image near or within depth vs. fleeting & easy to read your lead capture form might help you get more signups. Maybe you could create a short video where you announce your email list and the benefits it offers.
But sometimes, a photo is enough. In this example, I used a photo of Neil. He is speaking at an event, and this photo instantly lends him credibility if he asks you to sign up for his email list.
You can also use product photos, images next to customer testimonials, or any other images you think would fit your brand.
11. Use a great call-to-action button
The CTA closes the deal. If the CTA isn’t the year ceo brian moynihan said during compelling, your prospects will click away without bothering to sign up.
A great CTA is impactful and value-oriented. Many marketers find success using positive statements, such as the one above: “Give me my list!” It’s written in the prospect’s voice, almost like you’re putting words into his or her mouth.

12. Don’t use the word “Submit” in your call to action
We hate the word “surrender”.
First, it has negative connotations. You sault data have to submit to drug testing at work. You have to get vaccinated at the doctor’s office. You have to put up with your great aunt’s bossy attitude at the Thanksgiving table.
Furthermore, it conveys the message of work. . If there is one thing most of us want to avoid, it is more mind-numbing work.
In the end, it’s boring. Enough said.
There are thousands of words that could be used instead of “submit,” so give them a try.
13. Apply Conversion-Centered Design (CCD) principles to your forms
CCD refers to the process of designing a user experience that leads users to take a desired action — a conversion. Luckily, Hello Bar is already CCD-ready, so you don’t have to do much work.
Start with a strong shape. A square or rounded rectangle works really well because it focuses the visitor’s eye on the content within it. Make sure to use enough contrast, especially in the CTA button and text, and use a unique color for your CTA.
Arrows and leading lines also help with CCD. You need to tell visitors where to look. Finally, add attractive images. If the images include people or cute animals, you are done.
14. Create a sense of urgency
Urgency is one of the most important principles for conversions. You want your audience to feel compelled to fill out your lead capture form right away, without procrastinating.
You can do this by setting a sign-up deadline. For example, you create a special lead magnet, but it won’t be available forever. We’ve tweaked Neil’s lead capture form below slightly to add some urgency.
